Mirko Lotz studied Biotechnology at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, and completed his postgraduate studies at the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. There, he investigated cellular protein translocation using membrane protein crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy. He received his PhD from the University of Frankfurt/Main in 2007.
In his first professional role, Mirko worked for about a year at a consultancy firm specializing in R&D funding. He then relocated to Switzerland, where he spent approximately eight years as a business development engineer and key account manager at a company manufacturing industrial plastics.
In 2016, Mirko joined Bachem AG in Bubendorf, Switzerland, where he has held several roles since. As of early 2024, Mirko serves as the Global Market Intelligence Manager, providing market and competitive insights to support business development and strategic decision-making at Bachem.
